Get to Know Rochelle Akradi, DMD

Dr. Akradi’s patients appreciate that she doesn’t just tell them what they need. Instead, she works closely to provide education and help them understand their diagnosis. Dr. Akradi believes that when you understand what is going on in your body, you can make the best decisions. That’s why she places an immense value on spending one-on-one time with everyone in her care. You can learn more about Dr. Akradi’s training and passion for dentistry by reading below.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Akradi is originally from Minnesota, growing up in Eagan and attending Eagan High School (Go Wildcats!). As a child, she was utterly embarrassed by her own smile. Although she always knew she wanted to go into medicine, it wasn’t until her own self-confidence changed after braces, that she knew dentistry was the route for her. She says, “I was lucky enough to have a female dentist, and a female orthodontist, which really helped me see my dream as a reality.”
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Akradi graduated Magna Cum Laude from Denison University in Granville, OH. She was also a successful college athlete, swimming all four years at Denison. She then continued East and went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the prestigious Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA.
Dr. Akradi spent five years practicing dentistry in and around the Boston area before returning to Minnesota. She was voted Top Dentist, Best of Boston by Boston Magazine in 2017, 2018, and in 2019.
Dr. Akradi is very passionate about dentistry and about helping her patients. She says, “I love the ability to help people the day that I see them. There are not very many areas of medicine where you have the ability to fix something at that moment. With dentistry, you do, which is something truly special!” In addition to being a passionate general dentist, she is also compassionate and understands dental fears and anxieties. She treats the whole patient and values the connection between oral health and overall health and wellness.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Akradi enjoys spending her time outside the office with her husband, Nathan, her daughter Harper, and their two olde english bulldogs Sammy and Diezel. In the winter she loves to ski, and in the summer like a typical Minnesotan she enjoys wake surfing and spending time at the lake!
